About Laura
Laura Cunningham is a Licensed Professional Counselor, speaker, and trainer passionate about helping people find peace in the midst of pain. With over 15 years in private practice, she specializes in chronic pain and symptom recovery, trauma healing, and spiritual and emotional growth. She is certified in Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT) and Biblical Counseling through the Association of Biblical Counselors.
In addition to her counseling work, Laura is a sought-after speaker for conferences, retreats, and trainings. Her signature teaching series, Finding Peace in Pain, addresses chronic symptoms, relational struggles, emotional wounds, and spiritual hurt. She also presents on topics such as forgiveness, burnout prevention, abuse awareness, and living with greater joy and resilience.

Laura’s career path has been as diverse as it has been impactful. Before establishing her practice, she served as a missionary in China, worked in campus ministry with CRU at the University of Florida, taught high school English in New Jersey, and provided counseling support in residential and university settings.
Originally from New Jersey, Laura has made Lubbock, Texas home since 2007. She holds a Master’s in Counselor Education from Texas Tech University and a B.A. from Cedarville University, with additional theological and counseling training through Trinity Evangelical Divinity School and The Master’s University.
Outside of her work, Laura enjoys dancing, singing, acting, hiking, and biking. She and her husband, Dr. Sean Cunningham, are raising two daughters, Caitlin and Samantha, along with their two beloved dogs.
