About Meredith

Meredith Kunkle is a Licensed Professional Counselor and the founder of Move Counseling in Lubbock, Texas. She works with children, adolescents, and college-age students, helping them navigate transitions, discover their identity, and develop confidence in who they are. Her approach emphasizes acceptance, sensory-rich experiences, and trauma-informed care that equips clients to move forward with purpose and resilience.

Meredith began her professional career in education, teaching across five grade levels in four cities. Her years in the classroom ignited a deep commitment to student relationships and family support, ultimately leading her into counseling. For more than a decade, she served as a high school counselor, specializing in supporting special populations and guiding young adults through seasons of growth and change.

In addition to her private practice, Meredith is an adjunct professor of counseling at Sul Ross State University and has served on the Board of CASA. She has extensive experience incorporating animal-assisted therapy, including certified therapy dogs and equine-assisted therapy.

With more than twenty years of experience serving families and advocating for young people, Meredith remains passionate about helping clients embrace their story, trust their capacity for change, and take meaningful steps toward emotional wellness.

Outside of her work, Meredith enjoys live music, outdoor adventures, and time with her husband and two college-aged children. She lives by her favorite reminder: doing your best is the best move you can make.
